Corporate Social Responsibility is a key objective for us: in 2020, we defined a strategic sustainability plan with the aim of improving our environmental, social and economic performance.
As part of our Sustainability Roadmap, we have taken a number of concrete actions, considering sustainability as a strategic driver for both the setting of targets and the development of activities, and their ongoing monitoring.
SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
Designing with a responsible approach also means reducing the environmental impact of our products from their very conception, considering sustainability as a fundamental element of the design phases.
Through our research and development division, FAG Lab, we engage in ecodesign and sustainability to optimise the life cycle of products. We are also constantly collaborating with external bodies to develop tools for measuring the carbon footprint of our products, such as the LCA Tool.
ECO DESIGN
Eco-design represents the new frontier of sustainable design: when we develop an eco-friendly project, we analyse the expected environmental impact throughout the life of the product, with the aim of reducing it right from its conception. We also design to reduce waste, e.g. by maximising yield, and promoting the reuse of materials by proposing raw material from recycling.
Single-material solutions
Within the product offering, FAG Artigrafiche proposes single-material paper solutions: packaging and displays made entirely of cardboard, with structural performance equal to that of plastic, metal or wooden components.
A winning choice in terms of environmental and economic sustainability: easy to sort, they enter the recycling chain in a simple way, reducing the environmental impact and promoting the reuse of materials.
SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION
We have taken a number of concrete actions with the aim of also improving the energy efficiency of our plants and minimising the environmental impacts of our products and production:
- We only use energy from renewable sources
- We installed a cogeneration plant in the Dogliani plant for total self-consumption of the energy produced
- A photovoltaic plant is operational in the Canneto sull'Oglio plant
- We constantly monitor our emissions and consumption
- We promote the reuse of materials and production waste
- We deliver 98% of the waste from our processing to the paper mill, which is transformed into new secondary raw material
